The best way to learn Esperanto   In the beginning be sure to dedicate more time to complete a basic course than to any other activity concerning Esperanto. Don't try to find answers to all your questions. You will find most of those answers in one of the next lessons. Do NOT translate beyond what the lessons ask. Don't ask how to say something in Esperanto, specially those sentences whose meanings are not related to the meaning of their individual words (idioms). First learn how Esperanto works, and you will also learn to think in Esperanto. After finishing the basic course, try "La Gerda Kurso". At the end of each of the 25 chapters be sure to answer all the questions, do the exercises, and read the vocabulary for that chapter. This vocabulary is not simple Esperanto-English, but includes much information related to common word-formation. Try to reach speaking and reading fluency. After that, study the grammar details in Esperanto. If you wanted to improve your knowledge of English ... in which language would you study? We recommend Carlos Pereira's course. It is interactive and has sound (pronunciation). Details to obtain this course in section:   2. Basic courses (in English) Continue with "the Gerda Kurso" to obtain fluency. Details in section:   3. Advanced courses and books (in Esperanto) The Nesto project offers tutors for the basic course by Carlos Pereira and for "La Gerda Kurso". It is the intention of Nesto to ask for a small amount to help with expenses. The tutors are voluntaries, do not receive anything from your payment. It is possible to get the course for free. To register in the basic course. To register in La Gerda Kurso. Remember: You don't learn Esperanto speaking in English about Esperanto. It is better to study 15 minutes every day than to study the whole day and then forget it for more than a week. Otherwise you will need more time to review what you had already studied, instead of going ahead. Don't loose your time on details. Don't try to know everything perfect. Finish the courses. Later you will be able to improve, reading in Esperanto. Esperanto is much more interesting when you can use it. It is very important to listen to Esperanto. Advanced courses and books   Most basic courses provide a vocabulary of about 700 words (roots) After learning well the first course, you may continue to study in Esperanto. The only English texts should be vocabularies or dictionaries Esperanto-English. "La Gerda Kurso" is based on the book "Gerda Malaperis" written by Claude Piron. There are 25 chapters. At the end of each of the 25 chapters be sure to answer all the questions, do the exercises, and read the vocabulary for that chapter. Después de terminar el curso básico, continúe con "La Gerda Kurso". Al final de cada uno de los 25 capítulos esté seguro de contestar todas las preguntas, haga los ejercicios, y lea el vocabulario para ese capítulo. Encuentros   Hay tres regiones geográficas: por ciudad, por país, mundial. También hay encuentros de jóvenes, hasta 30 años de edad. Averigüe si existe algún grupo que se reúna regularmente cerca suyo. Visite encuentros anuales regionales, y el encuentro nacional. "Servicio Pasaporte"   Pasporta Servo (Servicio de Pasaporte) El servicio de Pasaporte es uno de los servicios más populares entre la gente joven que aprende Esperanto. Pasporta Servo es una red de hospitalidad que actualmente tiene de más de 1350 anfitirones en más de 85 países. Para participar en la red como invitado, sólo tienes que comprar la lista de direcciones, que se actualiza cada año. Luego puedes hacer uso del servicio. Los anfitriones no te cobrarán nada, muchos aun te ofrecerán un desayuno o una cena estupenda. Pasporta Servo hace más fácil viajar internacionalmente y encontrarse con gentes de otras culturas permitiendo a los miembros alojarse en hogares de otros hablantes de Esperanto. Ne (vous) demandez pas comment quelque chose se dit en espéranto, car beaucoup de phrases, dans toutes les langues, sont des idiomatismes qu'on ne peut pas traduire mot à mot. Apprenez d'abord comment l'espéranto fonctionne, et vous apprendrez également à penser en espéranto. Après avoir fini le cours de base, essayez "La Gerda Kurso". À la fin de chacun des 25 chapitres, assurez-vous que vous êtes capables de répondre à toutes les questions, faites les exercices, et lisez le vocabulaire du chapitre. Ce vocabulaire n'est pas un simple lexique Espéranto-français, mais inclut beaucoup d'informations concernant la formation des mots. Essayez d'atteindre une maîtrise de l'expression orale et de la compréhensioin écrite. Ensuite, étudiez les détails grammaticaux directement en espéranto, comme vous prendriez une grammaire du français expliquée en français. Ne passez pas trop de temps sur des détails. N'essayez pas de savoir tout parfaitement. Faites les cours jusqu'au bout. Plus tard vous pourrez améliorer la lecture en espéranto.
